Hey Sports Fans,
A-town bringing you some cool stuff that I saw over the weekend. The primary thing that caught my attention this weekend was the annual NBA slam dunk competition. This year the primary contenders were Los Angeles Clippers Blake Griffin and Washington Wizards Javale McGee. It was a good match up with numerous high scoring dunks from both sides. Even though both of the players tried there best Blake Griffin was able to triumph over Javale McGee with an amazing dunk over a car. Blake Griffin was quoted in stating that he had been throwing around the idea of dunking over a car but never really though he was going to do it. But once he had the idea he had to do it, so he did. With this dunk Blake Griffin was able to take the Slam Dunk Contest for 2011.
A-town
i watched it n think it was rigged. any of those guys could have cleared the hood of a new kia mini sedan. the production and hype prior to the dunks ruined it for me. on that note. blake griffin's a f***in beast

ReplyDeleteDeRozan has a REALLY valid point. I mean lets be honest Blake Griffin won the Dunk Contest with a two handed dunk. Granted it was over a car but seriously I think that most NBA players can jump over a sedan from well inside the free-throw line. Griffins first dunk was sick, the 360 jam, and so was the "elbow in the rim" dunk. McGee got shafted, I mean 3 balls (regardless of his power and the fact he might of held onto the rim) was way more impressive than a glorified two handed dunk.
I'm with Brandon and Steven.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I think I have seen better Blake Griffin dunks in games then in the dunk contest.
Like his top 10 dunks of November were awesome.

Anyone who can dunk is pretty cool to me!! But when I saw this I did think that they could have chosen a bigger, better car...just saying. But my respects to Griffin who did do a pretty cool dunk.
